The Very Best Makeup Products for Your Skin

Makeup is an art form, a representation of individuality and freedom of expression. It is used to correct flaws and to enhance the natural beauty of a person which helps an individual in presenting themselves in society with confidence.

It's easy to get overwhelmed when there are so many different cosmetic products and formulations to select from, as well as the ongoing changes in design and trends. We can attain the look we want and get the most out of our makeup as long as we understand the basics and know what each product can genuinely do for us.

Types of Makeup

Primer Foundation Concealer

Powder Blush Contour

Bronzer Highlighter

Blush

This is used to give the cheeks a rosy blush. It's been around since at least 3000 BC and today comes in powder, cream, gel, and liquid form. It gives your cheeks a rosy glow by adding color to your skin.

Blush is used to make you look naturally flush. After applying foundation, concealer, and powder, the face can look flat and washed out as the natural skin changes color and loses its dimension. With blush, it can bring back life onto the face as it gives depth and contour to the cheeks and features your inner glow.

Since there is a huge variety of blushes in the market, here is a guide to choose the best blush for you.

1. Choose the correct shade that fits your skin tone.

Same with picking the correct shade of your base, it is also hard to pick out the right blush that could fit your skin tone, undertone, and the look that you are going for.

If you have fair skin, you can use a pale or baby pink and peach color for a natural blush. But if you are going for a bold statement, bright pink can do too.

If you have a medium skin tone
, bright pink and mauve can look good on those who have cool undertones, while Orange and coral are best for warm tones.

If you have a deep skin tone
, bright shades of red, orange and berry tones are great on deep skin.

2. Choose the type of blush that works well with you.

Same with picking the correct shade of your base, it is also hard to pick out the right blush that could fit your skin tone, undertone, and the look that you are going for.

Powder Blush: For people with oily skin or wide pores, this is the finest option. It's simple and traditional, making it ideal for folks who are new to make-up. It's available in two formulas: matte and shimmer, and it's often applied using a brush.

Cream Blush: If you prefer a dewy, glowy look, this is the product for you. This is commonly applied with your fingers, a make-up sponge, or a blush brush and comes in a pot or a stick. It's easy to apply and feels light on the cheeks. This is not suggested for persons with oily skin because it may result in a greasy appearance.

Stick Blush: In terms of finish and texture, this is akin to cream blush. It's quite handy and can be utilized on the go. This product is easy to blend with your fingertips and may be used by cosmetics newbies. It's perfect for folks who have dry skin.

Liquid Blush: Liquid blushers have a natural, dewy finish and blend effortlessly into the face for a delicate, soft effect. This is also moisturizing, making it great for those who have dry skin.

3. Choose the right way of applying your blush that will flatter your face.

The most basic way of applying blush is just blending it onto the apples of your cheeks. But since blush is meant to accent your face, placing it differently, considering your face shape, could make a lot of difference.

It might be tricky at first, but exploring and finding what will look best for you will make your look a whole lot better. Here is a guide on how to apply blush, based on your face shape.

*Apply the blush along the apples of your cheeks to add volume to your cheek area.

*Apply to blush in a C form starting from the top of the temples down to the cheekbones.

*Try to apply the blush on the top of your cheekbones.

*Apply the blush below the apples of your cheeks, along the cheekbones, blending it up towards the hairline and up to the hairline.

Using your fingers, a makeup sponge, or a blush brush, blend the blush so the color will look more like a natural flush. If you’re looking for more color, you can go ahead and repeat the process until you get your desired makeup look.

You can also layer products for longer wear. You can set your cream or liquid blush with a powder blush on top. This would help to lock in pigments that will make your blush pop more and look good.
